CNO Corner with Karen Olsen: Follow Me on Twitter!
Published October 26, 2018
We have so many stories to tell about our dedicated and compassionate team of nurses and healthcare professionals at Mission Health. It’s hard to share them all, but one place to tell stories and spark conversation is on Twitter.
I am excited to share with you that I am now on Twitter! Follow me @KarenOlsenCNO and join me in this space to celebrate, tell stories and share opportunities and valuable information on nursing happenings at Mission Health.
In addition to Twitter, there are other ways to get information about nursing at Mission Health. Did you know that earlier this year, we redesigned Caring Connection? Caring Connection is specifically for you – Mission Health nurses. You’re on it right now reading this post! Along with a fresh design, we moved the site to Mission&Me (Mission’s employee benefits and news website) – putting all of our nursing resources, latest news and happenings in one place.
On Caring Connection, you’ll find:
- updates on our Magnet® Journey
- information about and updates from Mission Health Nursing Leaders
- resources to research your favorite nursing topics
- career development and professional practice opportunities
To access Caring Connection, all you do is go to missionandme.com/caringconnection! You do not need your Mission Health login to access Caring Connection – just an electronic device and an internet connection. I invite you to explore this important nursing resource.
Stay engaged and have a voice
You may have recently watched our weekly webisode series for the NDNQI Survey on Caring Connection. Thank you so much for participating and sharing your voice about your nursing practice and environment at Mission Hospital. We had a 94 percent systemwide participation rate! This will be an invaluable source of feedback for us to recognize where we’re succeeding, and identify areas we have opportunities to improve.
Another way to have a voice is to join Professional Governance. Applications for the CNO Advisory Council are being accepted now until October 31. Email Stephanie Cooke, our CNO Clinical Nurse Liaison, at Stephanie.Cooke@msj.org to learn more.
Thank you again for participating and engaging in initiatives like our nursing satisfaction survey, and for everything you do every day for our patients, our team members and our community. I look forward to “seeing” you on Twitter and around Mission!
Karen Olsen, RN
Chief Nurse Executive, Mission Hospital
