Nurses Week Video Contest

Lights, Camera, Action! Nurses across Mission Health Invited to Enter Video Contest for Nurses Week – Now Extended Through April 27

While there are many hallmarks of a great nurse, it’s often understated that nurses actually love acting in front of a camera, right? Fortunately if you’re a nurse, there’s no need to wait any longer for your proverbial Hollywood break!

This week, the Nursing Professional Development Council (NPDC) announced a video contest designed to showcase the many strengths and talents of nurses across our system, and build excitement leading up to Nurses Week, which will be observed May 6-12.

All nursing units throughout Mission Health are invited to participate by producing a short video (no more than two minutes) exemplifying the theme “Mission Strong: Keeping the Heart in Healthcare.”

Entries can be funny, heartfelt, thought-provoking or something else entirely; and can include singing, dancing, comedy, martial arts or ANY form of entertainment – creativity is encouraged! Be sure to identify your unit and Mission Health facility in your video. Filters, effects and titles may be added, but these elements are not required.

Need inspiration? Check out this promotional clip featuring team members Fabienne Sterckx, BSN, RN, CCRN, Stephanie Cooke, MBA, BSN, RN, CCRN and Linda Anderson, MSN, RN, NE-BC.

Prizes will be awarded to one nursing unit in each of the following categories: Most Creative, Most Participation and Best Incorporation of Theme.

WINNING UNITS WILL RECEIVE A TRAY OF CUPCAKES + BRAGGING RIGHTS!

Videos are due by 11:59 pm on Saturday, April 27. When you are ready to submit your video, please call Cheri Fleming, BHWP at (828) 213-5034 or email cheri.fleming@msj.org, and instructions will be provided on how to upload your file to a designated folder on MissionPoint.

Video submissions may not contain any content that:

  • displays patient information
  • displays a patient
  • is sexually explicit or suggestive
  • is violent or derogatory of any ethnic, racial, gender, religious, professional or age group
  • is profane
  • promotes alcohol, illegal drugs, tobacco, firearms/weapons (or the use of any of the foregoing)

  • endorses any form of hate or hate group

A judging panel comprised of NPDC members will review all entries and select winners from among eligible submissions. Some videos may also be shared on Mission Health’s social media channels.
