Mission Hospital Junior Volunteers Meet MAMA and Her Crew
The Mission Hospital Junior Volunteer program had quite an uplifting and insightful experience, as they got up close and personal with MAMA, Mountain Area Medical Airlift, and its crew members. They learned about the critical care air transport and all that is involved for the flight crew during a typical emergency.
From premature infants in respiratory distress to serious traumatic injuries, MAMA’s nurses, paramedics and respiratory therapists are trained to provide quality care in transport under medical direction from Mission Hospital.
Volunteer Opportunities at Mission Hospital
Our Junior Volunteers have the opportunity to learn about careers in healthcare. Adult volunteers have the opportunity to make an impact for our patients and team members! Do you know someone interested in volunteering who enjoys being active, has strong customer service skills and can commit to a minimum of one 3-4-hour shift per week for at least 70 hours over a four-month period? We are growing our volunteer team at Mission Hospital, with opportunities to actively volunteer in our new facility, the Mission Hospital North Tower, which will open in October 2019. Encourage them to start the application process by visiting missionhealth.org/volunteerasheville.
