Mission Health Marketing and Communications Receives Aster Award for “Generations” Television Spot

For 134 years, Mission Hospital has created and maintained a reputation of caring and innovation for the communities we serve. Through the years, Mission Hospital has grown and been updated with the latest advances in medical technology, such as the new North Tower.

The opening of the North Tower marked a momentous occasion in Mission Health’s and Asheville’s history with the tower bringing in $404.4 million investment to Buncombe County. Adding an additional 220 beds, 659 pieces of commissioned art from local artists and cutting-edge technology to Mission Hospital. The North Tower ushers in a new era of healthcare for residents of western North Carolina.

Recently, Mission Health’s Marketing and Communications team was honored with a 2020 Silver Aster Award in the TV/Video Advertising – Series category for our “Generations” television spot.

“The Aster Awards is one of the most prestigious recognitions a healthcare advertising campaign can receive – all the more so for an in-house agency,” said Byron Hudson, Creative Director, Mission Health Marketing and Communications. “Our team in MarCom went up against some of the biggest ad agencies in the country and won silver. Not too shabby! It speaks highly of the talent and creativity in our department, and it was truly a group effort. We couldn’t have pulled it off without help from the hospital facilities staff, construction staff and IT.”

The Aster Awards, one of the largest and most respected national competitions of its kind, is hosted by Creative Images, Inc. Silver award winners received top marks from judges placing them in the top 12 percent of the nation for advertising excellence. Judging criteria included creativity, layout and design, functionality, message effectiveness, production quality and overall appeal and execution.

Not only was the filming, scripting and production of this advertisement series a unique and rewarding experience for Mission Health’s Marketing team, it was also a memorable project to work on. While Mission Hospital may look different from its humble beginning in 1892, one thing has remained the same, our commitment to the communities we serve. Sharing Mission Health’s story is one way our Marketing and Communications team can continue this legacy.

Congratulations to Mission Health’s Marketing and Communications team for this achievement!
