Even before COVID-19, you were driven by a passion to comfort and a desire to care.

That passion is an indispensable piece in our daily pursuit of delivering excellent care in all we do. This week, we celebrate you, the ones who show up every day, working as a team in service of others, and proving you really are something special. You’re made for this. And it shows.

Every May, National Nurses Week brings an opportunity to recognize and celebrate the nurses serving our Mission Health hospitals and communities. As the world continue to fight the COVID-19 pandemic, we have seen unparalleled sacrifice and dedication from our nurses who are caring for patients on the front lines.

Nurses Week begins Thursday, May 6 – a celebration that aims to recognize the value and countless contributions made by nurses every single day. Let’s all take the time to thank a nurse who inspires others through their selfless service and sacrifice.

To help honor and commemorate nurses along with their tireless efforts, passionate commitment to caring for patients and embracing a culture of safety and compassion, Mission Health’s seven hospitals across western North Carolina will hold special events throughout the week.

While our Nurses Week celebrations may still look a little different this year due to COVID-19, there are still plenty of ways to celebrate and recognize our nurses. Follow along on our social platforms throughout the week to see nursing tributes, you can even add yours!

The week-long celebration will end on Wednesday, May 12 – the 2o1st birthday of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing.
